Looking for a comfortable place to stay on Minnesota’s beautiful Upper Red Lake, one of the best walleye producing lakes in the state?
Situated on the south shore of Upper Red in Minnesota’s northwoods is a private duplex with 2 separate units that are available year round. It is approximately 60 miles north of Bemidji or 45 miles south of Baudette. While rentals by fisherman both winter and open water seasons is the main use, the location is very close to many thousands of acres of Minnesota’s public lands and trails. This makes it a perfect fit for many of northern Minnesota’s other common activities such as bear hunting, snowmobiling, deer hunting, blueberry picking, grouse hunting, ATV riding, family vacations, etc. There are hundreds of miles of state forest roads and trails nearby.
The front of the building is about 50 feet from the lake, something you will not find anywhere else on Red Lake. It is located about a mile east of Roger’s Resort at the end of No Name Lane. It is conveniently situated on the south shore which is close to some of the best fishing spots on Red Lake and home to many of the winter outfitters. To get on the ice by vehicle in the winter, there is an access less than a minute’s drive to the west that has plowed roads. Ice fisherman with snowmobiles or other capable vehicle can drive right up to the cabin. The adjacent lot is available for camping and has RV hookups as well.
We consider ours the nicest cabin on Red Lake!
Each of the two separate units inside is around 800 sq/ft. and has it’s own full bathroom with shower/bathtub, full kitchen with everything you need, and 2 bedrooms per unit. Each side will sleep 4-6 persons. For larger parties there is an adjoining door on the inside that can be opened as you would have in adjoining hotel rooms for free movement between the two sides. There is also a shared utility room with washer/dryer. All appliances are modern. Refrigerators have ice makers. Both sides have forced air furnaces and central air conditioning for year-round comfort. The interior is all knotty pine.
The shoreline here has been rip-rapped to protect it but out just a couple feet it is a nice, sandy bottom for swimming. Between the cabin lot and adjacent RV lot there is ample space for vehicles/trailers. There is also a large open yard area for volleyball nets, other yard games, etc.
The units are available for rent by persons/parties that have their own outdoor, sporting, or other necessary gear, as we do not currently do fishhouse or boat rentals. It should be considered an “on your own” stay as there will not be a cleaning service until after you leave.
